Hey,..
My name is Maroen, born on March 7th 1978,
I’ve always loved music, I grew up listening to music from the 40’s & 50’s in my father’s jukeboxes.
I started playing guitar at a really young age, and it’s been my favorite instrument ever since.
After I finished high school I moved to Los Angeles for 3 years to study guitar and recording at Musicians Institute (Guitar Institute of Technology and Recording Institute of Technology).
I played in a lot of bands, toured all around Scandinavia, recorded a lot of bands and did session work.
Soon I build the Purple Company, my recording studio, where I write, record, play music,.. here I discovered singing as my other passion next to playing guitar,..
The cool thing about singing is that I can really tell a story, in my own words..
People asked me..why start this band... well, because I had to... music feeds me, it feeds my soul, I need to write, play, record music out of necessity, it keeps me sane and sometimes drives me insane, but it's what I do.
The most important thing about this band was that it has to be real, true, because music is emotion..
The lyrics are my reality and the music comes from my heart..
I found a great young guitar player in Mitch, he really plays with a lot of emotion for his age.
And if you think you can’t get lucky twice, well I did, I found Kit on drums, which is like a breath of fresh air.
Together we form the band MAROEN,.. and the rest is to be continued, I hope to see you at the shows,
